What we offer

- 24 hour nursing care for 38 residents within the nursing unit with single en-suite accommodation.
- Respite care to support carers to continue to care for their loved one in the community.
- Short term care to enable carers to recover from surgery or unexpected events
- Transitional care for residents who no longer need to stay in an acute hospital bed but are not ready or able to return home.
- Palliative / end of life care ensuring dignity for terminally ill residents
- Multidisciplinary professional access for residents (GP, Consultants, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, dentist, chiropodist, aromatherapist, hairdresser)
- Accommodation is finished to a high standard and each room has a profile bed, complete bedroom suite, comfortable chair, bedside table and uplighter, TV, telephone and data point, en-suite wet room complete with shower chair, toilet and washbasin.
- All linen and towels are provided
- The unit has additional equipment available such as mechanical hoists, lifting equipment, pressure relieving mattresses and a variety of incontinence products to help meet the individual needs of our residents
- Each floor on the unit has its own dining room and lounge and an additional quiet room for residents to meet with their family.
- A Social Activities Programme includes a poetry and reading group, craft, entertainment and films. We have day trips every Monday to Thursday and some evening trips to the local pub, theatre and an annual boat trip. Each activity is tailored to enable the residents to live their lives exploring new interests and remaining part of their community. We have versatility within the building to have a number of different activities in different areas of the building depending on the event.
- A Residents’ Focus Group meets regularly to give feedback on care and to make suggestions. The meetings are chaired by a member of staff and the minutes are given to Chief Executive Lin Cooke who then responds to the points brought up by the residents.

A robust staff recruitment and retention programme, with every member of staff receiving Protection of Vulnerable Adult and Criminal Record Bureau checks and staff training.
